ChampagneApp Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 29, 2026

Introduction

Welcome to ChampagneApp. This Privacy Policy explains how MB "Champagne App" ("we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in Lithuania, collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the ChampagneApp mobile application (the "App") and visit our informational website at https://www.champagneapp.eu (the "Website").

We process your data strictly in accordance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable international privacy standards.

Data Controller Information

The Data We Collect

We practice strict data minimisation. We only collect personal data that is strictly necessary to provide, secure, and improve the App.

  • Website Data: Our Website, hosted on Vercel, is purely informational. It does not use tracking cookies or collect, store, or process any of your personal data.
  • Account & Authentication Data:We use Single Sign-On (SSO) via Apple ID and Google ID exclusively. We do not create or store passwords. Because of how SSO functions, we inevitably collect and store the email address associated with your Apple or Google account to establish your profile. If you utilise Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we only receive and process a randomised email address.
  • User-Generated Content (UGC): To provide our core services, we store the content you voluntarily input, including your tasting notes, cellar inventory logs, vintage tracking, and private club creation or membership details.
  • Tasting Context Data: If you choose to add location tags, sensory notes, or specify companions within your tasting journal, this information is saved locally to your profile.
  • Device & Notification Data:If you explicitly opt-in, we collect device push tokens to send you push notifications, such as invitations to private clubs from your community. We do not access your device's general contact list to send these invitations.
  • Marketing & Advertising Data (Upon Consent): To measure the success of our advertising campaigns and reach new users, we utilise third-party tracking tools (such as Meta and Google Ads SDKs). If you grant explicit permission, we collect and share standard device advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID) and data regarding your interaction with our ads.
  • Product Analytics & Usage Data: We collect pseudonymised event data regarding how you navigate the App (e.g., screens viewed, features utilised) to diagnose bugs and improve educational content. This data does not identify you personally.
  • Age Verification: We record a binary confirmation that you are of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction. We do not collect or store your exact date of birth.

How We Use Your Data and Legal Basis

Under the GDPR, we must have a valid legal basis to process your personal data. We use your data for the following purposes:

  • Contractual Necessity:
    • To create and maintain your account using your Apple or Google email address.
    • To provide the App's core functionality, including saving your cellar inventory, logging tasting notes, and coordinating private clubs.
  • Consent:
    • To send you push notifications (such as club invitations) to your device. You can withdraw this consent at any time by disabling notifications for ChampagneApp in your device's system settings.
    • To track and measure the performance of our marketing campaigns using device advertising identifiers. On iOS, this is managed strictly through the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. You can revoke this consent at any time via your device's privacy tracking settings.
  • Legitimate Interests:
    • To analyze App usage patterns and user journeys to debug technical issues, improve our educational content, and optimize the overall user experience.
  • Legal Obligation:
    • To maintain a record of your age verification consent, ensuring compliance with global and regional regulations regarding alcohol-related content.

How We Share Your Data

We do not, and will never, sell your personal data. We only share your data with trusted third-party service providers (Data Processors) who provide the essential infrastructure to operate ChampagneApp. These include:

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Database (Supabase): Your account data, tasting notes, and cellar inventory are securely stored and managed using Supabase.
  • Product Analytics (Amplitude): We use Amplitude to track pseudonymised user journeys (e.g., which features are used most) to help us improve the App. We configure Amplitude to prioritise your privacy and minimise data exposure.
  • Subscription Management (RevenueCat, Apple, & Google): All subscription payments are processed securely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat to manage and validate your subscription status across platforms. We never collect, process, or store your credit card information; we only receive anonymous receipt tokens to unlock your premium access.
  • Authentication Providers (Apple & Google): We use Apple ID and Google ID to verify your identity. We share only the cryptographic tokens necessary to complete the secure login process.
  • Push Notification Services:To deliver club invitations and alerts, we utilise the standard push notification services provided by your device's operating system (Apple Push Notification service or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging).
  • Marketing & Advertising Partners (Meta & Google): To understand if our external advertising is working, we share specific, consent-based interaction data and advertising identifiers with platforms like Meta and Google Ads. We do not share your personal tasting notes, cellar inventory, or private club data with these advertising platforms.

International Data Transfers: Because ChampagneApp is available globally, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When we use third-party providers located outside the EEA, we ensure they are bound by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other lawful data transfer mechanisms approved by the European Commission to guarantee your data remains protected to EU standards.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's core services.

  • Account Deletion:In compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play policies, you can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the App's account settings menu. Alternatively, you can initiate a deletion request by emailing us at help@champagneapp.eu.
  • Immediate Data Wiping: Once you initiate account deletion within the App, your profile details (including your authenticated email address), personal tasting notes, cellar inventory logs, and club memberships will be permanently and immediately purged from our active production database.
  • Backup Lifecycle: Residual, encrypted copies of your data may persist within our automated, secure server backups for up to 30 days. After this period, your data is completely overwritten and permanently unrecoverable.

Your Rights Under the GDPR

As an EU resident—and extended to our global community where applicable under local regulations—you hold specific rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You have the right to request a complete copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information directly within your App profile.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to demand the permanent deletion of your data, which you can easily execute via the in-app account deletion feature.
  • Right to Restriction & Objection: You can object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests or request that we restrict how we handle your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we export your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions regarding your data, please contact us directly at privacy@champagneapp.eu. We will verify your identity and respond to your request within 30 days.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new App features, changes in our data processing practices, or updates to global privacy laws (including GDPR and regional data protection regulations).

  • Notification: If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share your data, we will notify you via an in-app alert or an email (to your authenticated SSO address) before the changes take effect.
  • Review:The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect the effective date of the latest version. Your continued use of ChampagneApp after an update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised policy.
